Sweet and thoughtful

Over the years we have had some of the nicest folks spend a night or 2 at Blue Tin Ranch. Guests come to us mostly from far away. We are a good half way stop for folks heading to the Black Hills and on to Yellowstone. Meeting people from all walks of life is something special.

A few weeks ago we had an overnight guest in our chicken coop. She booked the same day as her stay so I can only assume it was a last minute decision. She arrived after dark but I still made it a point to go out and greet her. She was obviously going through a tough time, so I gave her plenty of time and space.

It was an awful night with strong winds, heavy rain and quarter size hail. It must have been so very loud in the chicken coop with its metal roof. I worried about her. I texted her but got no response. What else could I do?

The next day she checked out fairly early and I missed saying goodbye. The chicken coop was left in amazing shape, clean up was a breeze. And then I noticed the zip lock bag on the counter. Oh no! She forgot something! But then I looked and noticed the bag was full of chicken themed magnets. She HAD to have brought them on purpose. I was so touched by her thoughtfulness.

In a few months I'm sure she will not think about her stay in the chicken coop. But rest assured I will think of her every single time I go in and see those magnets on the refrigerator. Makes me so proud and happy to provide a safe place for all my guests.
